Rory’s rush to join Tiger, DJ pranks Koepka and Casey’s curious mistake

No, this isn’t footage from Tiger Woods’ win last year. These crowds were here to see Rory McIlroy match Tiger as the only two-time FedExCup Champions. The scene here on 18 at East Lake, no longer unusual, but with the new staggered scoring system providing an exciting finish to the season finale. It was not just good, it was great. Don’t let the roars fool you. Rory’s just a normal guy. MICLROY: As I said, I’m pretty tired but
I’m about to enjoy a few drinks tonight. Who are we kidding? These guys are not like us mere mortals on the course, and they held nothing back at the TOUR Championship. ANNC: This had to be some 40-yard cut. We’ll get to look at it right here. Man. That’s more than a cut. That’s in the slice category. Yes. Purposful slice, but a slice. Brooks Koepka also left nothing to the imagination
this week, so buddy Dustin Johnson took a page out of ESPN’s Body Issue for a little
parking lot sign prank. Something tells me we won’t see Rory in
that magazine anytime soon. McIlroy wasn’t the only one walking away
with hardware at 18. Fans Conner and Courtney will be officially
married to the game after their engagement. No word yet on if Matt Kuchar will be at their
wedding reception lighting up the dance floor like he did earlier in the week at the kick-off concert. Paul Casey didn’t walk away from 18 with
very good memories this week, though. He and caddie Johnny “Longsocks” McLaren
pulled a 3-iron instead of his 4. Meanwhile, Chez Reavie and Xander Schauffele put themselves in the record books. They recorded the first aces on the famously
difficult par-3 9th in tournament history. That’s a wrap on the 2018-19 PGA TOUR season but the Korn Ferry Tour Championship is this week, so make sure to join me on Friday for The Takeaway.
