TSA Travel Tips: Holiday Travel

TSA has coordinated staffing and is committed
to making your travel experience this time of year as safe and efficient as possible. You can do your part by arriving to the checkpoint
prepared – and here are a few tips Gifts are allowed through the checkpoint,
we just ask that you refrain from wrapping them until you get through the
checkpoint. If there is something in your
gift that needs to be inspected, we may have to open it, and this can slow down the line. Keep this in mind when traveling with these
holiday staples. Pies are permitted, they
are subject to additional screening if our officers see any anomalies. Cakes, bread, donuts, turkeys, etc. are all
permitted Here is a list of items that should be placed
in your checked bags or shipped: cranberry sauce, creamy dips and spreads, gravy, jams,
jellies, maple syrup, oils and vinegars, sauces, soups, wine, liquor and beer. Small gaming consoles, small toys, things
of that sort; they can be placed in your carry-on bag
If you do have large electronics, game consoles, they need to be placed in a separate bin for
screening.
